Levinson Axelrod, P.A. Partner Brett Greiner recently secured a $1.754 million personal injury jury verdict following a trial in Somerset County.

As court records show, Brett’s client had backed into a fire extinguisher at a major retail chain store, causing the extinguisher to fall on his foot. The injury ultimately led to the development of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), a form of chronic pain that typically develops after forceful trauma, such as a crushing injury or fracture.

Given the significant injury and long-term repercussions, Brett advocated for a recovery appropriate for his client’s pain and suffering – and successfully litigated the case at trial when the defendant refused to make a fair settlement offer. The Somerset County jury ultimately agreed with Brett’s position and awarded $1.754,235 in damages. Walmart had only offered $75,000 to settle the case before trial.

Brett R. Greiner is a Levinson Axelrod, P.A. Partner who works primarily from our firm’s Edison office. A New Jersey Supreme Court Certified Civil Trial Specialist, Brett has recovered millions for victims in claims involving premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, and serious injuries. In May of 2021, the New Jersey Law Journal profiled a $2.5 million settlement secured by Brett on behalf of a 12-year-old student struck by a county-operated shuttle bus.
