Levinson & Axelrod, P.A. is proud to announce that Partner Adam L. Rothenberg has become a member of the Board of Trustees for CASA of Union County! This is a significant honor that speaks to Mr. Rothenberg’s reputation as a proven New Jersey trial lawyer, as well as his dedication to our local communities and an organization that provides a voice to children in need.
CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children – is a nationwide organization that works to protect the rights and well-being of abused and neglected children after they have been removed from their homes. By providing a system of support and passionate advocacy, CASA helps ensure these children do not languish in group homes or become numbers in an overburdened legal and social service system. Advocates who volunteer with CASA must complete a rigorous 30-hour curriculum, and are sworn in by a family judge and named to a case by court order. In addition to regularly spending time with children, volunteers connect with the child’s therapist, doctor, and foster parents to identify any unique or unmet medical, emotional, and education issues and ensure their best interests are protected.
CASA of Union County is one of CASA’s many regional branches, and it serves 21 municipalities by advocating for children from birth to the age of 21 following placement in foster homes or residential facilities due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. In this year alone, the organization has already served 262 children and utilized the service of 152 volunteers who donated over 13,600 hours of their time to the organization’s mission and programs.
Adam’s membership CASA of Union County’s Board of Trustees is a shining example of his passion for helping others in need and leveraging his legal experience to make true and lasting differences in their lives. It’s the same passion he applies to other important leadership roles he holds in the local and legal communities, and when fighting on behalf of injured victims who come to our firm after suffering preventable harm and losses.
