Levinson Axelrod, P.A. Managing Shareholder Mark Kuminski recently successfully resolved three separate motor vehicle accident cases, recovering a total of more than $1.68 million in compensation for his clients.
Here are some details about the cases:
$795,000 Recovery for Rear-End Accident Victim
Mark secured a $795,000+ recovery for a local Monroe man who was injured in a motor vehicle collision.
As noted in court records, Mark’s client was injured when his vehicle was struck from behind by another motorist who had fallen asleep while driving. His client had an extensive prior medical history involving injuries to his neck and back and had previously undergone 15 medical procedures, with the most recent procedure being performed just two weeks before this auto accident.
While his client’s prior medical conditions were extensive, Mark was able to successfully show how they were aggravated by his most recent collision. He secured a recovery totaling $795,268.77.
$500,000 for Auto Accident Victim with Injured Shoulder
Mark recovered half a million dollars in compensation for a Monroe resident who was involved in a motor vehicle collision.
According to court records, Mark’s client suffered injuries to her shoulder in the collision. She attempted to treat her shoulder injury conservatively with various forms of treatment and therapy and did not undergo surgery. Instead, she decided to change positions at work as she was no longer able to perform her original job responsibilities without pain.
Ultimately, Mark was able to secure a $500,000 recovery to compensate his client for her pain and suffering, medical expenses, and the economic losses caused by her injury’s impact on her work.
$390,000 for Victim Struck by Wrong-Way Driver
Mark secured a six-figure settlement for a Monmouth County woman who was injured in an auto accident caused by a motorist who was driving the wrong direction down a one-way street.
Case records show that Mark’s client injured the labrum of her hip in the collision and underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair the injury.
The case was complicated by the fact that the defendant’s vehicle was a rental car and only had limited insurance coverage. Fortunately, Mark was able to collect all available insurance coverage from the defendant driver and the vehicle he had rented, and recover additional compensation through a successful claim for Uninsured Motorist (UM) benefits under the client’s own auto insurance policy. The case was settled for a combined total of $390,000.
