Levinson Axelrod, P.A. Partner Brett Greiner recently secured a $1.754 million personal injury jury verdict following a trial in Somerset County.
As court records show, Brett’s client had backed into a fire extinguisher at a major retail chain store, causing the extinguisher to fall on his foot. The injury ultimately led to the development of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), a form of chronic pain that typically develops after forceful trauma, such as a crushing injury or fracture.
Given the significant injury and long-term repercussions, Brett advocated for a recovery appropriate for his client’s pain and suffering – and successfully litigated the case at trial when the defendant refused to make a fair settlement offer. The Somerset County jury ultimately agreed with Brett’s position and awarded $1.754,235 in damages. Walmart had only offered $75,000 to settle the case before trial.
