In March, Levinson Axelrod, P.A. Partner Robert Cook secured a six-figure settlement for a client who suffered a knee injury after stepping into an open stormwater drain.
According to case records, Robert’s client was walking to his vehicle after shopping in a grocery store when he stepped one leg into the opening of a stormwater drain. The opening had developed when the drain’s head separated from the curb in a parking lot median. The Plaintiff suffered an aggravation of an existing meniscal tear in his knee which required him to undergo arthroscopic surgery.
Following negotiations with the Defendant and insurance company, Robert was able to secure $215,000 in compensation for his client’s pain and suffering, medical expenses, and other damages.
