Levinson Axelrod, P.A. Volunteers Return to Youth Leadership Somerset's Mock Trial Day

Levinson Axelrod, P.A. Attorneys made their return as volunteers for the Youth Leadership Somerset’s Mock Trial Day. Associates Brian McElroy, Chris DeAngelo, Erin Kolodziejczyk, Charles Mathis, and Jessica Bland volunteered for the event.

Held annually, the Somerset Mock Trial competition allows students entering grades 9 through 12 to assume specific roles as attorneys in a hypothetical case, and develop arguments for each side, including lines of questioning and cross-examination for witnesses called to provide testimony during the competition.

This year’s case, created by the New Jersey Bar Association and distributed to all mock trial teams in the state in the beginning of the school year, concerned a personal injury case in which the plaintiff allegedly suffered injuries while riding a roller coaster in the fictional town of “Metropolitan.”

Our attorneys have been actively involved in volunteering their time to Youth Leadership Somerset and its mock trial program. This year, they were able to impart some first-hand knowledge regarding the concepts of negligence and personal injury law as they helped lead a mock trial with a group of over 20 students considered among the County’s best and brightest student leaders.
