An estimated 5,780 people turned out on Thanksgiving morning to take part in the 25th annual fundraiser 5K run and 2M fitness walk. The CEA/Johanna Foods Turkey Trot has been raising funds and awareness for the CEA, an organization that works to provide people with disabilities community employment and career pathways, and the CEA School.
“What a wonderful turnout for this 25th annual Turkey Trot,” said Race Director Michael Skoczek. “I am so happy that so many people came out to celebrate Thanksgiving with us on this cool but beautifully bright morning. The crowds were fantastic, the weather was cooperative and a wonderful time was had by all. I am most grateful to the thousands of runners and walkers who came out today, the dozens of volunteers, event sponsors and friends who make this event happen, and as a result raise funds so we can continue to provide people with disabilities with career pathways to community employment, which has been our mission since 1970.”
