New Jersey Lawyer Recovers in Excess of $15 Million for Clients
Flemington, NJ (PRWEB) January 02, 2014
Levinson Axelrod offers congratulations to attorney James J. Dunn on a
busy, successful 2013. Mr. Dunn helped his clients recover over $15 million,
including $3 million for a
motorcycle accident and other million-dollar recoveries in vehicle-related death cases.
In a personal injury case this year, Mr. Dunn, who practices out of Levinson Axelrod's Flemington and Hillsborough offices, helped recover $3 million for a motorcyclist who suffered injuries after grounding his bike to avoid being hit by a dump truck (Somerset County - SOM-L-1633-08) , according to the New Jersey Law Journal. The plaintiff alleged that the accident led to injuries requiring reconstructive surgeries and skin grafts that also left him with a limp due to spinal trauma.
Mr. Dunn's 2013 successes continued with two $1 million settlements in wrongful death cases involving motor vehicles. The estates of a man who suffered injuries that ultimately led to an embolism and death after being hit by a vehicle running a red light (Reilly – Hunterdon County HNT-L-194-11), and a man who suffered a heart attack after his employer's dump truck flipped after swerving to avoid a driver running a stop sign (Palovick - Somerset County – SOM-L-56-11), each received the full amount of insurance available.
In yet another vehicle-related case, Mr. Dunn helped recover $500,000 for a
Middlesex County motorist who suffered herniated cervical discs as a result of an auto
accident in New Brunswick (Middlesex County - docket no. MID-L-7763-11).
The plaintiff's vehicle had collided with a van traveling in the opposite
direction that ran a red light. The driver of the can was sued for negligence,
and the case settled after mediation on July 19.
In a
premises liability case, Mr. Dunn helped a woman to recover $500,000 after allegedly developing
Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) as a result of surgery performed after
the plaintiff fell and fractured a bone in her foot due to missing concrete
(McCafferty - Somerset County - SOM-L-1633-08). The plaintiff had been
walking to her bank when she encountered the defective sidewalk and sustained
the injury; corrective surgery left her with constant pain, changes in
temperature and color of the foot, and severe pain upon touch. The jury
returned a verdict of 100% liability against the defendant.
James J. Dunn is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney and is a member of several bar associations, in addition to his role as Past President of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
